Yes, it has been a while! It is crazy how fast the time has flown when so much is going on. Here are a few highlights over the last few months…
Wild Bear Nature Center Breaks Ground On Highest Elevation NetZero Nature Center
Wild Bear Nature Center celebrated another milestone toward completing the long-time vision of their permanent home located on the SE corner of Mud Lake Open Space. On Sunday, Wild Bear’s Board of Directors, staff, volunteers and donors convened on Wild Bear’s 5 acres to acknowledge the work and dedication of volunteers and the generosity of donors who have moved this vision forward. The net zero nature center will be tied into Nederland’s grid providing energy back to the town and will be the highest-altitude net-zero nature center in the United States open 360 days of the year.

Interpretive Master Plan: Completed!
This Interpretive Master Plan (IMP) intends to set the direction for how Wild Bear’s facility near Mud Lake engages its audience to develop understanding, enhance knowledge, reveal meaning, and connect emotionally to its public through the built opportunities at the site and interior spaces.
Native Land Blessing & Groundbreaking
On Sunday, members of the Native Tribal Nations, including came to Wild Bear's land to acknowledge and bless it as we move toward breaking ground for the new nature center this month. This is a major milestone in our 22 year journey to build the net zero nature center, accessible to all.
